Is Measure Map Dead?
Posted on January 3, 2007, under Development.
Google acquired Measure Map in February of 2006. Since then, the homepage, service, and forums have been stale. The press release from the acquisition is titled “Here comes Measure Map”, which has me asking: When?!?!
For as many services that Google acquires and enhances by integrating it under the Google umbrella, Measure Map seems to be one that was lost along the way. Is it going to be integrated with Google Analytics? Is it going to be a Blogger only feature? What is going on with it?
Several emails to Measure Map have brought no answers. I just want to know if I should continue to wait and keep my hopes up. How about you?

About 6 months ago I got a reply to an email I sent to one of the addresses I found for measure map. I’m not sure if it was in the reply from the email or something I read from Jeffery Veen or one of the other Measure Map developers, but the gist of what I read was that they were put on other projects at Google and those were their first priorities. They said Measure Map wasn’t dead, but it sure does look like it. I’d love to try it out because it looks great, but I’ve all but given up hope at this point. I’ve been using Clicky lately, it’s got some good stuff. Try it out: http://getclicky.com
