Digg Removes Top Diggers List, Get Ready For Backlash

Kevin Rose, in the official Digg blog announced some updates that are coming to Digg. Among the list is the removal of the “Top Diggers” list. The news is already spreading through the blogosphere, and I am sure the backlash from Digg users will begin soon.

Naturally users that made Digg what it is today want their recognition, and when it comes to Digg if you are on the Top Diggers list I am sure it sends some traffic your way as well. Kevin is quoted in saying “We plan on rolling this out in the coming months along with features and programs that do a better job of rewarding positive contributions to the Digg community.”, which might just be the saving grace to keep those loyal Digg users. The power of numbers and people in communities is great, so this will be interesting to see how it plays out.
