The End to Any Social Network Starts With the User
I am still converting all of machines over to Ubuntu, so I have been a little behind in my RSS reading.
I have been reading more and more about this ‘Digg Scandal’ that has been all of the news.
The biggest thing that one can take from this event is remembering how powerful the users are. They are the core business to social networks and most any online service. Also that they have no problem jumping ship to the next best thing, we saw this when users switched from Friendster to MySpace, and now from MySpace to Facebook.
You have to keep you users happy and in turn they will be loyal. I feel like Digg was under the microscope because eveyone is just waiting for them to sell out or go under.
It’s not an easy job managing a community, very quickly politics get involved.
