Three Tools to Help Keep Your Firefox Installs In Sync
One of the many reasons I use Firefox is that I can customize to to my liking. There are many extensions that I must have and take advantage of when I sit down on a machine that does not have that extension installed. Across my machines, I like to keep my Firefox installations synchronized, so that they are all one in the same. Here are three tools to help with that task.
Foxmarks: Has to be one of the greatest services developed for Firefox. Simply enough this free service gives you a tiny extension that will synchronize your bookmarks with their server. From there, on other Firefox installs the bookmarks are always kept in sync. Additionally you can always view your bookmarks with their online control panel if you are completely away from one of your machines. Foxmarks has several options including automatically syncing when you close Firefox.
BackupFox: Unfortunately this is only for Windows users, but still a great tool. BackupFox will backup your entire Firefox install, including passwords, bookmarks, settings, etc. This was if you ever have a computer crash or a corrupted configuration file you can easily revert back to a customized installation of Firefox and not miss a beat.
FEBE - Firefox Extension Backup Extension: FEBE allows you to backup your Firefox extentions into a single XPI install. This is a very useful tool when installing Firefox on a new system because it allows you to get all of your favorite plug ins with one install instead of many.
